Huntingdon County is presently in a HIGH level of community covid transmission.
In order to keep our schools open, we ask that you monitor the covid infections around you. If a household member tests positive for covid, please keep your child and siblings home. If your child is sick with a temperature higher than 100.3, chills, cough, muscle or body aches, NEW loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nasal congestion, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, please keep them home and consult with your family physician for recommendations. Please notify our school nurses if you have a covid situation involving your child/family or if you have questions.
We are required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health to report positive covid cases in our buildings, conduct contact tracing, and issue quarantine instructions. If we have a positive covid case in our buildings, we are required to quarantine students and staff who have been within 6 feet or less for 15 minutes or more, unless the close contact has been vaccinated or if both parties were wearing masks.
By working together and communicating with our nurses, you can help ensure the safety of our students and staff.
